16. Certain persons to file statements when the Act is adopted subsequently by any State.- (1) Where any person holds any vacant land in any State to which this Act does not apply in the first instance but which subsequently adopts this Act under clause (1) of article 252.of the Constitution and the extent of such land together with the extent of the vacant land. if any, already held by him in any other State to which this Act applies in the first instance, exceeds in the aggregate the ceiling limit, then, be shall, within three months of the commencement of this Act in the State first mentioned, file a statement before the competent authority having jurisdiction specifying the location, extent, value and such other particulars as may be prescribed of all vacant lands held by him in that State and in such other State and also specifying the vacant lands within the ceiling limit which he desires to retain. (2) The provisions of sections 6 to 14 (both inclusive) shall, so far as may be, apply to the statement filed under this section and to the vacant land held by such person in excess of the ceiling limit. |
