8. Resignation of the Chairman and members of the Committee and the Board and filling of the casual vacancies.-(1) A member of the Committee or the Board, other than the Chairman, may, by giving notice in writing to the Chairman, resign his membership. The Chairman may resign by a letter addressed to the Central Government. (2) A resignation shall take effect from the date of communication of its acceptance or on the expiry of 30 days from the date of resignation whichever is earlier. (3) When a vacancy occurs or is likely to occur in the membership of the Committee or the Board, the Chairman shall submit a report to the Central Government immediately. The Central Government shall take steps to fill the vacancy. |
