18. Fees and allowances payment Trustees.- (1) The Trustees shall be paid by the Board such fees and allowances for attending the meetings of the Board or of any of its committees and for attending to any other work of the Board as may be provided by rules made under this Act :

Provided that no fees shall be payable to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman or any other Trustee who is a servant of the Government.

(2) A member of a committee appointed under sub-section (1A) of section 17 shall be paid the sane fees and allowances for attending the meetings of the committee and for attending to any other work of the Board as are payable to a Trustee under sub-section (1):

Provided that the Board may, with the prior approval of the Central Government, pay to any such member fees and allowances at a rate higher than that provided in the case of Trustees.
