Industrial Dsiputes (Appellate Tribunal) (Extension to the Assam Autonomous Districts) Act, 1956


Preamble.- An Act to extend the Industrial Disputes (Appellate Tribunal) Act, 1950 to the Autonomous Districts in the State of Assam

Whereas it is expedient to extend the Industrial Disputes (Appellate Tribunal) Act, 1950 to the Autonomous Districts in the State of Assam;

It is hereby enacted in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:
XIV of 1956

1. Short title, extent and commencement.-

(1) This Act may be called the Industrial Disputes (appellate Tribunal) (Extension to the Assam Autonomous Districts) Act, 1956.
(2) It shall extend to Autonomous Districts referred to in Part A of the Schedule appended to paragraph 20 of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, hereinafter referred to as "the said arrears".
(3) This Act shall come into force on such date as the State Government appoint in that behalf.

2. Extension of Parliament Act XLVIII of 950.- All the provisions of the Industrial Disputes (Appellate Tribunal) Act, 1950 shall apply to the said arrears.
