As per Section 6 of Negotiable instrument
Act
If the endorser signs (on certain negotiable instrument
or check) his name only, the endorsement is said to
be "in blank"
If he adds a direction to pay the amount
mentioned in the instrument to, or to the order of,
a specified person, the endorsement is said to be "in
full", and the person so specified is called the
"endorsee" of the instrument.
Thus endorsement of a check or other
negotiable paper without naming the person to whom it
would be paid is called Blank Endorsement
