170. STAMPING OF PIECE-GOODS. - (1) Piece-goods which have been manufactured bleached, dyed, printed or furnished in India in premises which are a factory as defined in the Factories Act, 1948 shall be stamped with the particulars required under sub-section (1) of Sec. 74.

(2) In the case of piece-goods manufactured- outside India, each piece shall be marked with the name of the manufacturer, exporter, or wholesale purchaser in India of the goods and with the real length of the piece in standard yards or in standard metres as required under Cl. (D of Sec. 18 of the Sea Customs Act, 1878.
