7. Oath or affirmation.- (1) Every member before taking his seat shall make and subscribe at a meeting of the Council an oath or affirmation according to the following form, namely:- "I.A.B., having been nominated as a member of Council do swear in the name of God/solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I m about to enter,", (2) If a person its or votes as a member before the has complied with the requirements of sub-section (1) he shall be liable in respect of each day on which he sits or votes as the case the case may be, a penalty of three hundred rupees to be recovered as arrears of tax under this act. |
