24. Power of Boards, courts, Labour Courts, Tribunals and National Tribunal.- In addition to the powers conferred by the Act, Boards, courts, Labour Courts, Tribunals and National Tribunal shall have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, when trying a suit, in respect of the following matters, namely- (a) discovery and inspections; (b) granting adjournment; (c) reception of evidence taken on affidavit; and the Board, court, Labour Court, Tribunal or National Tribunal may summon and examine any person whose evidence appears to it to be material and shall be deemed to be a Civil Court within the meaning of sections 480 and 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898. |
