30. Application of the Chapter.- The Provisions of this Chapter shall apply to all hotels and lodging houses in the areas which, immediately before the 7th day of April, 1958, were included in the New Delhi Municipal Committee, Municipal Committee, Delhi and the Notified Area Committee, Civil Station, Delhi and may be applied by the Central Government, by notification in the Official Gazette, to hotels and lodging houses within the limits of such other urban are of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi as may be specified in the notification: Provided that if the Central Government is of opinion that it would not be desirable in the public interest to make the provisions of this Chapter applicable to any class of hotels or lodging houses, it may, by notification in the Official Gazette, exempt such class of hotels or lodging houses or lodging houses from the operation of this Chapter. |
