134. Consequence of collection of land revenue by Gaon Sabha.- Where a Gaon Sabha has been charged with the duty of collecting and realizing the land revenue or other dues under section 133 the following consequence will follow: -- (a) Every Bhumidhar shall, without prejudice to the provisions of section 108, be liable to the Gaon Panchayat for the payment of the land revenue or other dues for the time payable by the Bhumidhars, (b) The amount of land revenue or other dues collected or realized by any member (including Pradhan or Up- Pradhan) or the Gaon Panchayat or any member of the Gaon Sabha and not paid to the Government may, without prejudice to his liability under any other law for the time being in force, be realized as arrears of land revenue from him or his property in the hands of his legal representatives, and (c) The gaon Panchayat shall be paid a remuneration at such rate as may be prescribed on the collections made by it after the amount of land revenue or other dues collected have been credited to the prescribed fund. |
