Appointment and powers of settlement Officers.- The Chief Commissioner shall appoint a Settlement Officer to be in charge of the State or part thereof and as many Assistant Settlement Officers as he may deem fit; and such officers shall, during the settlement operations, exercise the powers conferred upon by this Act. |
