24. Thermometers to be maintained in efficient order.- Each thermometer shall be maintained at all times during the period of employment in efficient working order, so as to give accurate indications and in particular :- (a) the wick and the muslin covering of the wet bulb shall be renewed once a week; (b) the reservoir shall be fitted with water which shall be completely renewed once a day. The Chief Inspector may direct the use of distilled water or pure rain water in any particular mill or mills in certain localities; (c) no water shall be applied directly to the wick or covering during the period of employment. |
