SCHEDULE I :SPECIFICATION FOR A PARTITION

vide Rule 3(j)

(1) A partition shall be constructed either of-

(i) Standard hollow cement blocks laid in cement mortar or lime mortar not less than 12 inches thick and plastered on both sides with not less than 1/2 inch of cement mortar; or

(ii) of good quality bricks, not less than 13-1/2 inches thick laid in cement mortar or lime mortar and plastered on both sides with not less than 1/2 inches cement mortar; or

(iii) of reinforced cement concrete of 1 : 2 : 4 proportion having a thickness not less than 6 inches and plastered on both sides with not less than 1/2 inch cement mortar.

(2) Partitions shall be continuous from floor to ceiling and securely laid so as to ensure a firm bond with the walls, floor and ceiling.
